Maybe it's time to change my lover Part 1

I went out on my bike (Shiela) for breakfast this morning.  It's Saturday.  I still have work today.  But I planned to start the day feeling good.  So I went out with all my gear, hoping to take some morning pictures before breakfast.  Turns out, it's a non-cloudy morning.  That didn't bother me.  Shiela takes good care of me and my total weight (almost 100kg with full gear).  I enjoyed my breakfast.  On my way back, I tried to stop by a store to get some food for lunch.  The parking road was grimy, dusty, and not even cemented.  For some reason Shiela slipped.  I was thrown away from her for about 2 feet and skidded face down for about 3 feet.  Hands down and protecting my body (at least I have my helmet on), I only had scratches on my palms and knees.  My right limbs took the most damage but that was it.

Fresh meat?

I twisted while I was skidding down the floor.  That's where I got those extra scratches at the side.

I doesn't look much but it hurts now.  I sprained my thumb and my palm meat is mushed.

Watching the accident happen, a by-stander was taken aback but got to check out on me after a couple of minutes.  I could see gasoline flowing out of Shiela's tank.  But I just couldn't get myself to stand up straight and tend to her.  I don't know about my adrenaline but I certainly feel the pain.  I'm glad the by-stander came by.  He was asking some questions but none of his words come clear to me, so I just said, "I'm okay" and he stopped.  He noticed the liquid running out of my bike and lifted it immediately.  I know Shiela's heavy and it takes some technique to get her to stand, so I helped.  He left after that.  Blood oozing from my wounds, I had to check if I can still ride Shiela at both our state.  Hand brake's broken, tank dented, foot brake a bit deformed, but she can still manage to get me home.  It's all up to my driving now.

I got home, washed my palms, only to find out I'm out of alcohol.  How I'll manage to clean the rest of my wounds?  I don't know.  I could only slap some gauze pads for now.  At least until a pharmacy opens nearby.  I don't even know where the nearest pharmacy is.

It's a Saturday.  I still have to work.  But I was looking forward to travel for photography after that.  I could have still enjoyed Sunday.  But at this state, I doubt I'd even want to go out a kilometer away from my room.

I know I'm still lucky compared to many motorcycle accidents.  I know it's my fault for not driving carefully.  I hope I don't have to go through a more grave situation before I learn my lesson.

  2. Thanks. I'm doing fine now. But I can't hold the camera properly. It'll take a bit more time before I can go street-shooting again.
